How to play

Nine squares, nine guesses. Name a player who fits both headers crossing a square — and who did both in the same season, with that team, at that rating. A 1990s number does not count towards a 2010s team.

One guess per square, right or wrong. A miss still spends a guess, so nine is all you get.
No player twice. Once a name is on the board it is used up.
Rarity is the score. Each square pays up to 100%, out of 900 for a full board.
Dig deeper, score higher. The fewer players who could have filled a square — and the fewer people who would have thought of your answer for it — the higher the percentage. The obvious name pays the least.

Today's board is the same for everyone and resets at midnight; your progress is saved. Random board deals a fresh one any time you like — it is practice, and it is not saved or counted.
